News and catalog update - October 2018
After more than 2 years, we are again bringing news about the newly found/digitized titles of Czech film music.
These are mainly two personal archives, including the archives of the composer Štěpán Koníček and Ladislav Štaidl. We found the first one in the archive of FISYO. With the director (Kauders), whom I would like to thank for his willingness, we formed together a list of films/TV music titles from this personal archive, which we can publish through our archive. As for the digitization of this archive, it is on a longer time. We obtained the latter by a gift directly from Ladislav Štaidl, which I would also like to thank. The list of titles from his archive is already part of our database and we currently have more than half of it in digital form. The recording information will be incremental. Furthermore, we acquired the already converted archive of composer Jiří Bulis thanks to Vuk Kratěna (Wolf Music). Unfortunately the titles are not marked in any way and so they need to be identified by comparison with the film/theatre record. So far, the only title we have identified is "O slonovi, který chtěl kvést". Other titles (about 30) are waiting to be identified.
Furthermore, we digitized several dozens of titles from various composers from copies of DAT tapes, whose originals were in the archive of Krátky film studio (the archive finished literally on dump) and which were preserved only thanks to Mr. Kacián, whom this immensely thank you for keeping them. The transfers need to be dealt with and so the titles will be added to our database with a time. Finally, we reached the DAT tapes of another 30 titles of various composers, whose digitization we are working on. It's music tracks for the movies, it's not music recording, but it's still something and we're very grateful.
